Publication Ethics

The Journal of Property, Urban, and Regional Economics (JPURE) is committed to maintaining integrity, transparency, fairness, and accountability in scholarly publishing. As a peer-reviewed open-access journal published by Yayasan Riset Properti, Ekonomi, dan Kemanusiaan, JPURE expects authors, reviewers, editors, and editorial staff to follow responsible publication practices.

JPURE applies publication ethics principles guided by internationally recognized standards, including the core practices of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). The journal does not tolerate plagiarism, duplicate submission, data fabrication, data falsification, citation manipulation, inappropriate authorship, undisclosed conflicts of interest, peer-review manipulation, or any other form of publication malpractice.

Responsibilities of Authors

Authors must ensure that submitted manuscripts are original, accurate, and not under consideration elsewhere. All data, methods, findings, tables, figures, and references must be presented honestly and clearly. Authors are responsible for obtaining necessary ethical approval, institutional permission, informed consent, or data-use authorization where applicable.

Authorship should be limited to individuals who have made substantial intellectual contributions to the manuscript. All authors must approve the submitted version and agree to be accountable for the integrity of the work. Any change in authorship after submission must be approved by all authors and the editor.

Authors must disclose all funding sources, conflicts of interest, and the use of artificial intelligence or AI-assisted tools. AI tools cannot be listed as authors. Authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, citation integrity, and ethical compliance of the manuscript.

Responsibilities of Reviewers

Reviewers must evaluate manuscripts objectively, confidentially, and constructively. They should assess the manuscript based on originality, relevance, methodological quality, clarity, ethical compliance, and contribution to the journal’s field.

Reviewers must not use unpublished materials for personal benefit and must decline review invitations if they have a conflict of interest. Any suspected plagiarism, duplicate publication, data manipulation, or ethical concern should be reported to the editor.

Responsibilities of Editors

Editors are responsible for making fair and independent editorial decisions based on scholarly merit, relevance to the journal’s aims and scope, originality, clarity, methodological rigor, and ethical standards.

Editors must protect the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts, reviewer reports, and editorial correspondence. They must also manage conflicts of interest and take appropriate action when ethical concerns arise, including requesting clarification, seeking additional review, issuing corrections, publishing expressions of concern, or retracting articles when necessary.

Conflict of Interest

Authors, reviewers, and editors must disclose any financial, institutional, personal, professional, academic, or other interests that may influence the publication process. If no conflict of interest exists, authors should state:

“The author(s) declare that there is no conflict of interest regarding the publication of this manuscript.”

Plagiarism and Research Integrity

JPURE requires all manuscripts to be original and properly cited. The journal may use similarity-checking tools to identify plagiarism, text recycling, duplicate publication, or improper citation practices.

Research data, analysis, figures, maps, and interpretations must be reported accurately. Fabrication, falsification, misleading analysis, and inappropriate manipulation of research materials are serious ethical violations.

Complaints, Corrections, and Retractions

Complaints and appeals related to editorial decisions, peer review, publication process, or ethical issues should be submitted in writing to the Editor-in-Chief. The journal will review complaints fairly, confidentially, and proportionately.

If significant errors or ethical violations are found after publication, JPURE may publish a correction, expression of concern, or retraction. These actions are intended to protect the integrity of the scholarly record.

Confidentiality

All submitted manuscripts, reviewer reports, editorial correspondence, and editorial decisions are treated as confidential. Editors, reviewers, and editorial staff must not disclose manuscript information to unauthorized parties.

Yayasan Riset Properti, Ekonomi, dan Kemanusiaan supports the editorial team in maintaining ethical publishing practices, editorial independence, transparency, and long-term access to published scholarly content.
